Title

Evaluation of microdeformations and fracture quantities by means of micro moire methods

Abstract
A hybrid experimental and numerical approach for the determination of microdeformations and fracture quantities is presented on the example of a fatigue cracked aluminum alloy CT-specimen. Using the Micro Moiré Technique the deformation state of the notch and crack tip region is recorded as interference pattern during an in-situ-deformation. The experiments are carried out in a Scanning Electron Microscope. The experiments are coupled with a finite element analysis (2d and 3d). This method can be applied for various materials. From the analysis crack and fracture parameters can be obtained.
