Evaluation of stress states in components using ultrasonic techniques
Abstract
Ultrasonic techniques to evaluate (residual-) stress states are compared with the x-tay diffraction and the partly destructive drilling hole techniques new methods. Because of the different functional principle the cases of applications as well as the needed preparations are different. The physical background of the techniques as well as different cases of application are published in the literature. The objective of this contribution is to give a short overview of typical applications in order to facilitate the decision of the technique to be chosen for a specific problem.
