Framework for the development of mechatronic systems
Abstract
In connection with developing mechatronic products a variety of computer-aided design and simulation tools is used, though individual tools often represent only one part of the domains involved. For early functional integration of virtual mechatronic products a coupling of the associated software and simulation tools is imperative. The objective of the Fraunhofer project FunctionaIDMU is the development of a framework for the cooperative development and validation of functional prototypes of complex mechatronic products. The key of the approach is to extend the well established concept of 'Digital Mock Up (DMU)' with functional aspects of modeling and simulation towards an open extensible framework that supports coupled simulation of models generated by different simulation tools with different programming languages.
