Title

Influence of nanoparticles surface composition on the properties of epoxide based adhesives

Other Title
Eine Untersuchung zum Einfluss der Oberflächenzusammensetzung von Nanopartikeln auf die Eigenschaften von Epoxidklebstoffen
Abstract
The influence of surface modified fumed silica on the lap-shear-strength as well as peel strength of different epoxide based adhesives is shown. If a high amount of the silane fixed on the particles surface is covalently bound, both mechanical properties are improved strongly. The combination of the surface modified fumed silica with silicone nanoparticles lead to a strong synergistic interaction with respect to adhesion properties. This synergistic effect is connected with the formation of a superstructure containing both kinds of particles.
