Abstract
(A1) Die Erfindung betrifft eine Brennstoffzelle, die eine Membran-Elektroden-Einheit aus einer ionenleitenden Membran mit an gegenueberliegenden Oberflaechen der Membran angeordneten Katalysatorschichten, die als Anode und Kathode dienen, sowie gegebenenfalls eine anodenseitige und/oder eine kathodenseitige Gasdiffusionsschicht aufweist, wobei die Membran-Elektroden-Einheit benachbarte Bereiche mit unterschiedlichem Diffusionstransport fuer Edukte und/oder Produkte aufweist. Ebenso betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Herstellung derartiger Brennstoffzellen.

The catalyst layers are arranged on opposing sides of the ion-conducting membrane and serve as cathode and anode. The membrane-electrode unit has adjacent regions with different diffusion transport for feeds and/or products. One of the catalyst layers in a region with lower diffusion transport exhibits a higher diffusion barrier than the catalyst layer in the region with higher diffusion transport. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for production a fuel cell. USE - Fuel cell e.g. hydrogen-polymer-electrolyte-membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), for directly converting a chemical energy into an electrical energy. ADVANTAGE - The fuel cell can be manufactured in an easy and cost effective manner and can be handled in easy manner.
