Abstract
Investigations were carried out by laser beam welding with and without filler material, laser MIG hybrid welding and MIG (butt welds, lap welds). The investigated material was magnesium alloy AZ31(thin sheet; 1,2 and 1,9 mm).
The process parameters of the several welding techniques were reviewed and the properties (quality class, quasi-static properties, hardness, fatigue strength) of welded samples were determined. Furthermore beginning research about a calculation of Mg constructions was done.
