Abstract
Millimeter-wave technology finds manifold applications in safety and security, e. g. in the detection of concealed weapons or plastic explosives, in surveillance and reconnaissance as well as in avionics as landing aid, wire detection or runway control. At Fraunhofer IAF, the worldwide first 220 GHz millimeter-wave monolithic integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules have been developed for the fabrication of high-resolution sensors and imaging systems.
