Titel
Understanding FDA requirements
Abstract
The American market is huge and, in an atmosphere of increased international competition, many European companies are considering experting to the United States. Yet this implies compliance with a legislative system which is substantially different from the one they are familiar with, and the expense of meeting this challenge often discourages firms with little experience in this field. The present article describes the basics of the requirements of the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the food sector, and puts them in perspective with the situation in other industrial sectors.
