Evaluating intellectual capital
Abstract
It is a great challenge for European politics to meet the objective, formulated at the summit in Lissabon in 2000, to develop the EU by the year 2010 to the world's most dynamic and competitive economic area. Almost 23 million small and medium sized enterprises currently face the question of how to secure their economic future in times of fierce international competition. Their decisive advantage is their know-how, their "intellectual capital". Until now, there are only a few scientific approaches about how to measure, evaluate and control such resources. Funded by the European Commission, the InCaS-project is meant to develop and implement a sustainable method for drafting an intellectual capital statement. The scientific directorship is held by Fraunhofer IPK.
