Beside the conventional tensile test, new testing methods as the Maxi-Bulge-Test and the Tension-Compression-Test for sheet metals provide detailed data and parameters for the material behaviour at yield onset, above the uniform elongation in dependency of the anisotropy of the materials. The determination of the material parameters by itself is an inverse problem, that can approximated by non-linear optimisation methods, providing the best adjustment between measured and computed local and global mechanical quantities. With this method the foundations for a better and cost-efficient process design and the technological engineering can be accomplished.
