Abstract
DE 102006031113 A1 UPAB: 20080425 NOVELTY - Preparation of ceramic composite material, comprises manufacturing a moldable mass at least from ceramic powder and/or granulates and organically, thermally and/or chemically hardened binding agent; bringing the moldable mass to a shape and hardening the binding agent; pyrolyzing the formed green body under air seal temperature and subsequently infiltrating the emerged porous ceramic body with silicon and/or one or more metal or metal alloys in vacuum, in a vacuum-protective gas-atmosphere in liquid form or over gas phase. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of ceramic composite material, comprises manufacturing a moldable mass from ceramic powder and/or granulates and organic, thermally and/or chemically hardened binding agent, which shows total duroplastic processing behavior; bringing the moldable mass to a shape and hardening the binding agent; pyrolyzing the formed green body under air seal temperature of greater than 250degreesC and subsequently infiltrating the emerged porous ceramic body with silicon and/or one or more metal or metal alloys in vacuum, in a vacuum-protective gas-atmosphere in liquid form or over gas phase. USE - The process deals with the preparation of ceramic composite material. ADVANTAGE - The process produces the ceramic composite material with porous free or desired porosity, in simple and inexpensive manner.
