Titel
Multi-cell outdoor MIMO-measurements
Abstract
The focus of this work is a broadband multi-cell multiple input multiple output (MIMO) measurement champaign at 5.2 GHz with 10 antennas at the transmitter and 16 antenna at the receiver, respectively. The measurements have been conducted on the campus site of the Technical University in Berlin in summer 2005. After preprocessing the different data sets, parameter such as path gain, RMS delay spread, max. excess delay as well as MIMO capacities have been derived. Results for overview measurements as well as for individual links between terminal and base station indicate that the direct signal has a significant impact. It contributes two spatial degrees of freedom due to the polarisation. If the direct signal is blocked, rich scattering occurs. Path gain, delay spread and max. excess delay measurements indicate a good coverage of the area but it is also shown, that a lot of inter- and intra cell interference occurs.
