Experience-based continuous learning is essential for improving products, processes, and technologies in any emerging area of business and science. This can be facilitated by repository-based organizational learning through capturing relevant experience for reuse in an experience base. To make such an experience base initiative a success, the experience base and its related processes in an organization have to be "embedded" and "lived" in the organization. In addition, a number of organizational, technical, and knowledge issues have to be considered when an experience base "goes online". In this paper, we describe these issues and illustrate this with lessons and examples from our in-house experience factory.
