Knowledge and technology transfer and demonstrable contributions that research can make to society and the economy have become central to publicly funded R&D projects. However, the transfer process and the valorization of research results is often complex, risky, time-consuming and prone to failure. Achieving impacts beyond scientific advancements requires a clear understanding of the context, applications as well as relevant stakeholders that benefit from research results. Building on innovation management and agile development frameworks, this publication is designed as a practical guide to support practitioners in the development of effective transfer concepts. Besides giving an overview of central components that form the basis of transfer concepts, this guide outlines a selected set of tools and methods to discover and assess potential markets for research results.
