Wizard of Oz (WoZ) systems are widely used in the study of human-machine interactions. In WoZ studies, users are made believe that they are interacting with artificial intelligence (AI), while in fact the putative AI is controlled by a human behind the scenes. This setting allows the simulation of AI and the recording of users reactions to it. These reactions can then be used to train actual AI systems and learn about how people can interact with them. WoZ experiments are common in the field of natural language processing (NLP) and can be used to design and evaluate NLP systems. To our knowledge, currently no open WoZ systems for NLP exist. We designed a WoZ framework for NLP, that we call Wizard of Oz for Speech Systems, WoS and that is available for open-access onhttp://githu
