Abstract
To evaluate and compare different automation concepts, like full-automation, human-robot-collaboration (HRC) or manual assembly, certain criteria have to be considered. In order to make the right decision in selecting the right form of automation, far more criteria than just quantity and costs have to be examined. For a reasonable comparison of different automation concepts, a quantification approach for assembly scenarios was conducted. A Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis performed the subsequent evaluation of the automation concepts. The final decision-making tool was validated on a real consulting scenario. The results of the evaluation provide conclusions and insights into production alternatives and thereby supports the designers in the planning of automation concepts.
