Approach for Extending Evaluation Criteria for Scalable and Modular Industrial Robots
Abstract
Personalized products require versatile and flexible manufacturing systems. With regard to the five transformers mobility, scalability, modularity, universality, and compatibility and the approach of the Matrix Fusion Factory, today's industrial robots are critically examined for their use in a versatile manufacturing system. Further, it is analyzed, whether the existing evaluation criteria are also suitable for scalable and modular lightweight robots and industrial robots up to 60 kg. An approach for an extension of the evaluation criteria is provided. Based on the concept of CASIMIR developed at the University of Stuttgart's IFF, the approach is examined.
