Titel
Codesign for the integration of energy harvesters and antennas for highly integrated cyber physical systems (CPS)
Abstract
In the field of high volume production, e.g. in the automotive industry, there is a strong demand for process control based on wireless sensor nodes. In the publicly funded project FreiForm research work has been done aiming at the integration of extremely robust autarkic wireless sensor nodes directly into moving parts of the machine and its tools. Due to space limitations the integration of different functional modules such as harvesters and antennas calls for a high integration density which increases the likelihood of electromagnetic intra-system coupling. The surrounding environment with many metal objects affects the electromagnetic field distribution and limits the performance of wireless systems. The research work in this paper describes the influence parameters and a methodology to overcome the problem and to optimize system integration in such environments.
