Titel
Thin film technologies for single-mode polymer waveguides
Abstract
The rapidly rising data transmission rates both in telecommunication and computer networks generate a growing demand for low cost single-mode integrated optical components. In view of their potential for mass production, polymer integrated optical devices have drawn increasing attention in recent years. Since polymers are well established as thin film dielectric in the microelectronics industry, a waveguide concept relying on these developed technologies is promising in view of cost efficient devices.
