In this paper, a method for designing optimised search strategies based on principles from quality of service resource management is proposed. Given emitters with approximately known parameters, revisit and dwell times are chosen per frequency band. The goal is to maximise the utility achieved by the emitters' probability of identification under the constraint of limited receiver time. A simulated example demonstrates the algorithm's performance, comparing it to different versions of a periodic band sweep. It is shown that the proposed method finds an ideal compromise between resource usage and utility.
