Titel
Digital engineering Industrie 4.0 for machine tools and production equipment
Abstract
New requirements to production engineering arise from information-communication technologies and big data. Customers do ask for innovative, personalized, high quality and low cost products in shorter delivery time. This requires resource efficient and digital engineering and sustainable manufacturing concepts. Digital engineering technologies are developing and implementing in science and industry. Real industry and virtual reality are combined for the Internet of Things, new services and continuous data flow. Applied research projects for machine tools and forming technologies are performed by Fraunhofer IWU for a wide industrial implementation. This paper presents the demand in new digital engineering concepts opening innovative solution potentials, setting new trends in production engineering and first application results. One R&D focus lies in a servo press monitoring system SmartStamp avoiding tool inclinations during forming processes. Collision prevention system PCS for metal cutting machine tools and processes base on virtual reality object simulation, motion prediction and CNC drive control. A dynamic path planning for industrial robots is combined with CNC control applications.
