Abstract
Although multicrystalline (mc) silicon (Si) substrates generally exhibit stronger material related limitation of the solar cell efficiency compared with Czochralski grown (Cz) Si, to date mc Si substrates have higher market share due to lower cost. This thesis evaluates suitability of different solar cell concepts for application on mc Si substrates and the stability of their efficiency during conditions relevant under operation in solar modules.
