Title

New developments in bulk forming of power train components of enhanced performance characteristics

Other Title
Neue Entwicklungen in der Massivumformung von Komponenten des Antriebsstranges mit erhöhten Leistungsmerkmalen
Abstract
Highly loaded car components will be manufactured of steels by bulk forming also in future because optimal performance characteristics can be obtained by those techniques. Research and development is aimed at the production of still more complex components of high-strength steels using highly productive forming processes. In this paper, new process developments in warm extrusion, spin extrusion and cross rolling are described, which can contribute to reduced production time and are directed towards enhanced in-service safety of power train components and their weight reduction.
