Titel
Abstract

Optical wireless communication gains more and more importance due to rising data traffic in various areas. Crucial for the optical performance of the communication devices are their electronic and optical components. In this diploma thesis several optics for receivers and transmitters are developed, simulated and evaluated regarding their fabrication. During the development process different analytical methods and numerical optimization are used. Specifically, there are well-known concentrators like compound parabolic concentrators and dielectric totally internally reflecting concentrators, but also aspherical lenses, total internal reflecting optics and freeform mirrors presented. A cost-effective fabrication is mandatory in order to compete with other communication technologies. This topic is addressed in particular by investigating the usability of injection molding for the developed optical systems.
