Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Computer-Eingabegeraet (2), mit zwei Beschleunigungssensoren (14, 16), deren lineare Sensorachsen (10, 12) beim bestimmungsgemaessen Gebrauch im Wesentlichen in einer horizontalen Ebene und in einem Winkel, insbesondere von 90°, zueinander verlaufen, und dass eine Neigung des Geraets (2) durch Vergleich der Signale der beiden Beschleunigungssensoren (14, 16) ermittelbar ist und in Abhaengigkeit davon und von weiteren Bedienungsmassnahmen Steuervorgaenge am Computer ausloesbar sind.

During normal use their linear sensor axes (10, 12) both lie in a horizontal plane and are at 90 deg. to each other. Inclination of the mouse is determined by comparison of signals from both sensors. As a function of this determination, and from other actions, control operations are initiated at the computer. USE - A computer mouse. ADVANTAGE - The mouse can be operated when hand-held. This is in addition to, or instead of normal mouse function. Use of acceleration sensors for this purpose has advantages over known use of three-dimensional inertia sensor technology, which is elaborate and subject to drift. Particularly simple implementation and reliable results are achieved by the new design.
