Entwurf und Implementierung eines kontextsensitiven Medienerfassungs- und Annotationstools für Java Smartphones
Abstract
Modern mobile telephones change from simple telephones to multimedia all-round personal digital assistants. Built-in calendars, to-do lists and contact lists help users to keep their overview about the mobile everyday life. More flexible and bigger memories, improved cameras and more powerful processors support multimedia methods like capturing and playback of audio, video and photos in high quality. Third generation communication networks with high bandwidth (GPRS, UMTS, etc.) provide a technological basis for mobile access to digital media and networks in an efficient way. This provides the embedding of smartphones into mobile processes of any kind. At a conceptual layer these multimedia applications need new methods for archiving and retrieving of multimedia data, because text based search for content within multimedia files is not possible. A promising way is the use of context-sensitive practices which allow a user to describe his actual situation and to link this information with multimedia data. In fact it is possible to retrieve multimedia data with novel context sensitive methods. Aim of this thesis is the design and prototypical development of a context-sensitive media capture and annotation tool for java based smartphones.
