Abstract
WO2003099439 A UPAB: 20040120 NOVELTY - Process for the transportation, retention and concentration of molecules on a number of sites in a microchannel network comprises producing electrical output potentials which can accept two discrete potentials, and applying the output potentials to electrodes. The output potentials are produced by integrated digital electronic components and are present in the second to millisecond region depending on the shape and material of the electrodes, composition of the liquid and the nature of the molecules. USE - For establishing controllable molecule filters and selective barriers using the molecule types, for maintaining the functionality of the electrodes in the microfluid structure, for constructing molecular diagnostic systems and for controlling the automatic investigation of pharmaceutical active ingredients, lab-on-a-chip analysis, molecular computing and gene expression analysis (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Manipulation of the molecules is simplified.
