Abstract
DE 10218936 A UPAB: 20040218 NOVELTY - A process for production of an electromagnetic converter, in the form of a lamination) (1, 2, 3, 4), in which fibers (3) from a piezoelectric ceramic material make contact with electrodes (2) on a support layer (1), and the fibers (3) are enveloped by a plastic material which can flow, which is hardened to form a matrix is new. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A process for production of an electromagnetic converter, in the form of a lamination) (1, 2, 3, 4), in which fibers (3) from a piezoelectric ceramic material make contact with an electrode (2) on a support layer (1), and the fibers (3) are enveloped by a plastic material (PM) which can flow, which is hardened to form a matrix. In this process: (a) the PM in the viscoelastic state has a storage modulus G' at 1 Hz greater than 1 Pa, preferably greater than 1000 Pa, a storage modulus G' at 1 Hz = greater an 100 Pa, preferably greater than 5000 Pa, (b) the PM is pressed in the viscoelastic state by application of a pressure to the lamination), and (c) the PM is reinforced and the laminate formed is removed from the opened mold. USE - The converter is useful as an electromechanical transducer. ADVANTAGE - The converter can be produced quickly and cost effectively, has improved mechanical and piezoelectric quality, is flexible, and the electrodes can be easily applied by screen printing.
