Abstract
WO 200168961 A UPAB: 20020208 NOVELTY - Inorganic hollow fibers, prepared by processing a spinning composition, prepared by hydrolytic polycondensation optionally in the presence of a solvent and/or a condensation catalyst and optionally by addition of copolymerizable and/or addition polymerizable monomer or oligomer, a catalyst, a pore forming additive and/or soluble compounds of Li, Na, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Sn or Pb. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Inorganic hollow fibers (I) are prepared by processing a spinning composition (II) by conventional methods. The hollow fibers are optionally dried and the optionally dried fibers are hardened by polymerization and/or polyaddition by thermal, radiation and/or chemically induced means and the hardened hollow fiber is pyrolyzed to remove the organic components. The spinning composition (II) is prepared by (A) hydrolytic polycondensation of at least one compound of formula (1) and/or derived pre-condensates and at least one, optionally complexed compound of formula (2) and/or (3) or their corresponding pre-condensates and optionally at least one compound of formula (4) and/or corresponding pre-condensates and/or compounds of Li, Na, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Sn or Pb. The hydrolytic polycondensation is carried out by addition of water or moisture, optionally in the presence of a solvent and/or a condensation catalyst, the molar ratio of the compound of formula (1) to the sum of compounds of formula (2) and (3) is 99:1-1:99. Optionally the spinning composition is prepared by (B) addition of at least one copolymerizable and/or (poly)addition monomers, and/or oligomers, and/or catalyst(s), and/or pore forming additive(s), and/or compounds of Li, Na, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Sn or Pb which are soluble in the reaction medium. SiXaR'bR(4-a-b) (1) M1R03 (2) M2XyRz (3) XaSiR4-a (4) R = 1-20C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl alkylaryl or arylalkyl, optionally containing oxygen and/or sulfur atoms and/or ester, carbonyl, carboxyl, amide and/or amine groups, R'=1-50C organic group having at least one polymerizable or polyadditive group; X = H, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl or NR2; R = H, alkyl or aryl; a, b = 1-3; a+b = 2-4; M1 = aluminum or boron; M2 = titanium or zirconium; R0 = halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy or acyloxy; y = 1-4; z = 0-3; and y+z = 4. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the spinning composition (II) USE - The hollow fibers (I) are useful in separating processes and gas exchange (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The fibers (I) have an improved mechanical stability and high selectivity.
