Titel
Concepts for employing natural language processing in narrative games
Abstract
The state of the art in natural language processing and dialogue management is far away from enabling natural conversation with a virtual character. This paper argues that, nevertheless, natural language (NL) can and should be used in games. This paper presents concepts that enable the use of NL, and presents an exemplary educational game that implements those concepts. It argues that using NL allows for novel types of games that stress on communication, narration, empathy and psychological understanding, rather than on motoric skills or spatial exploration
