Titel
Numerical simulations of new high-power, high- brightness diode laser structures
Abstract
Increasing the brightness of high-power diode lasers is one of the key topics in today's semiconductor laser development activities. Although structures like flared oscillators or the -distributed feedback lasers show an increased brightness compared to standard broad-area lasers, specific draw-backs of these concepts lead to a still strong demand for investigation of alternative structures. Easy-to-use and fast simulation tools are essential to avoid unnecessary, costly and time consuming experiments during the development of new diode laser structures. Some of these computations and numerical simulations are presented.
