Abstract
The Personal Environment Controller (PECo) is a digital assistant system that provides the user with a unified facility for organizing as well as accessing the different media repositories at his disposal and direct manipulation of the physical environment (projectors, TV sets, hi-fi systems, Lights, shutters, etc.). If the user wants to start a presentation without front-light or he wants a darker room, first he identifies the front-lights in the 3D model based on their position and orientation corresponding to them within the real physical environment and then he turns them off just by clicking on the corresponding 3D-object. After identifying the target output device, he just drags his presentation and drops it on the mentioned display. The main purpose of this thesis is the development and implementation of an indoor location system that can provide the location and the orientation of all the 3D model to allow the dynamical update of the user's interface, providing PECo with a model that describes the environment. It will be based on RFID technology and Ubisense indoor location system.
