No goods move without packaging. Packaging is urgently needed in every national economy to transport products from the place of origin to their place of use. Packaging also fulfills a number of other tasks and functions. The better the packaging meets the diverse demand placed on it, the more flexibly does the logistics system have to adapt to each application. However, not every user has the same idea about what a packaging system needs to provide. Many expect a full-service system, while others have no clear idea. The question arises therefore about where the challenges for the packaging of the future lie and what contribution innovative systems can make.
One can well imagine that packaging for bulky and extremely lightweight goods, such as an insulation, can quickly become a serious issue, as tha packaging weight and cost have an appreciable impact on the total price of the product. In the same way, the transport and storage of this kind of material is anything but trivial, especially if one wishes to set it up efficiently.
