Elastomeric materials are developed for adaptive wings focusing on the elasticity atminus 55 °C to ensure morphing at cruise altitudes. In order to optimize fatigue andaging properties of this new multi-material device FEM simulations and mechanical testsare carried out. Two large skin panels are finally manufactured and successfullyassembled into a true-scale wind tunnel demonstrator for the experimental validation ofadaptive trailing edge device functionality in simulated operative conditions.
