Abstract
In this work, a non-isocyanate urethane poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMSUr) was synthetized by reacting a cyclic carbonate with aminosilane. This material is able to coat common surfaces used in dental implants, such as SS316L orTiAlV alloy, by sol-gel process. In attempt to improve stability between coating and substrate, plasma treatment was performed on the substrates and the adhesion strength after this treatment was evaluated. The substrates coated by PDMSUr were tested regarding biocompatibility by fibroblast attachment assays as well as bacterial adhesion, performed with L.casei and E.coli.
