The number of available displays has been risen in the past few years. As a side effect the heterogeneity of displays grew dramatically, ranging from watches to tablets and multi-touch tables up to display walls with a length of several meters. The difference between those displays is significant, especially concerning their use-cases and display options. This kind of development, however, offers great potential, as well as certain challenges, for information visualization.
In order to effectively visualize information within such an environment, the selection and adaptation of eligible visualization methods has to be considered, based on context parameters and criteria. Potential parameters are hardware specifications (especially screen size), user task, and the nature and number of information to be displayed.
In this thesis, the concept and a framework for the most eligible visualization method selection and adaptation on different display environments are proposed and developed.
