Abstract
This work is related to the analysis of the modulus of elasticity (MOE) of light medium density fiberboards (LMDF). New methods for geometrical and physical compression of transversal isotropic fiber networks are proposed. The geometrical compression works well when the compression ratio is less than 30%. The modulus of elasticity is obtained for different densities and we obtained the profile of modulus of elasticity throughout thickness. This result is used to simulate a macromechanical three point bending test using the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The modulus of elasticity in bending, which is simulated is in good agreement with those found in the literature (difference less than 10 %).
