Aluminium materials together with innovative forming technologies provide great potentials for modern light weight structures due to the material properties. To increase the potentials and to optimize the process parameters of the hydroforming technology with view to the resulting durability of car structures, the engineer needs the fatigue strength data of the aluminium sheets for the different grades of prestraining. Moreover for the transfer of these data to the formed aluminium sheet structures the change of thickness due to the forming process must be considered because of their influence on the stiffness and local strains and stresses for the estimation of strength and life cycle estimation.
