Abstract
WO2004092789 A UPAB: 20041125 NOVELTY - Production of transparent polymeric optical elements with reduced boundary surface reflectivity comprises exposure to energetic ions in a vacuum to form an irregular nanostructure followed by coating with a thin electrically conductive layer prepared by galvanic forming of a tool that is used to form the surface of a transparent optical element having a nanostructure of reduced boundary surface reflectivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A process for the production of transparent optical elements (I) whose surfaces at least partially have a reduced boundary surface reflectivity whereby the surfaces comprise a polymeric material of a reference element exposed to energetic ions in a vacuum to form an irregular nanostructure having alternating elevations and depressions followed by coating of the surface with a thin electrically conductive layer prepared by galvanic forming of a tool having a negative contour that is covered by the nanostructure and the tool is used to form the surface of a transparent optical element having a nanostructure of reduced boundary surface reflectivity. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the resulting tool having depressions of different depths within an interval of 30-210 nm. USE - The tool is useful for the production of Fresnel lenses, optical windows, lenses, lenticulars, radiation components, light wave guides, optical prisms, optically transparent films, coatings for displays and for optical display elements (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The process is cost effective.
