The passive temperature sensor (10) has a coupling element (12) that is implemented to draw electric energy from a magnetic or electromagnetic alternating transmission field (20), and an energy rendering element (14) that is implemented to provide an energy supply signal based on the drawn electric energy. A temperature measurement circuit (16) is implemented to generate a sensor alternating signal (24) a frequency of which depends on an environmental temperature (23). A switching element (18) is implemented to change a physical characteristic allocated to the coupling element to achieve an impact on the alternating transmission field based on the sensor alternating signal. An independent claim is included for a reading device for passive temperature measurement.
