In this paper a BIPV façade and a conventional façade are compared according to their economic profitability (life-cycle cost assessment) and their ecological impact (electricity yield and CO2 emissions saved by the photovoltaic generation of electricity) The analysis takes different cell technologies, different module sizes, the German, French and Italian feed-in-tariffs and the respective energy mix into account, showing the influence of different feed-in tariffs on the profitability of photovoltaic installations.
