Titel
Optimisation of processing routes for cross rolling and spin extrusion
Abstract
The trend towards lightweight construction in vehicle manufacturing results in an increased use of hollow shafts in vehicle gear boxes. In order to maintain their competitiveness producers have to reduce their costs and to improve the quality of their products permanently. This publication focuses on near-net-shape and net-shape forming of rotation-symmetrical workpieces by incremental rolling processes. Two methods, cross rolling and spin extrusion, which can be used combined or individually are described with a special focus on spin extrusion. Further more approaches of experimental methods for determination of local forming parameters and different simulation methods are included.
