Abstract
Beschrieben wird ein Mischoxid-Katalysator, insbesondere zur selektiven Oxidation von CO in wasserstoffreichen Gasgemischen, oder in sauerstoffhaltigen Gasgemischen in Gegenwart von Wasser und Kohlendioxid, enthaltend etwa 15 bis 30 at.-% Cu, etwa 55 bis 77 at.-% Mn und etwa 7,5 bis 10 at.-% Ce.
DE 10252103 A UPAB: 20040709 NOVELTY - A mixed oxide catalyst especially for selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in hydrogen-rich or oxygen-containing gas mixtures in the presence of water and carbon dioxide contains copper (ca. 15-30 atom %), manganese (ca. 55-77 atom %) and cerium (ca. 7.5-10 atom %). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparation of the catalyst. USE - The catalyst is used in (a) oxidation of carbon monoxide in a hydrogen-rich gas mixture, especially for fuel cells, oxygen being added in a stoichiometric amount with respect to the carbon monoxide (CO) and reaction being in a hydrogen-enriched gas containing by volume CO (0.2-1%), carbon dioxide (CO2) (10-20%), water (15-30%), hydrogen or hydrogen + nitrogen (balance) diluted with oxygen or air at O2/CO ratio 1.0-1.5 at 100-200 (especially 155-190) deg. C and at space velocity 1000-15000 (especially 5000-7500) hour-1; or (b) CO oxidation in an oxygen-containing mixture in presence of water and CO2, especially in treatment of automobile exhausts (both claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalysts show good removal of carbon monoxide over a wide temperature range (140-200) deg. C, achieving levels below 50 (especially below 10) ppm CO in hydrogen-rich gas mixtures and being resistant to side reactions in oxygen-containing gases.
