DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is made for a device for determining the torque of a combustion engine. USE - Determination of a motor vehicle combustion engine torque for use in an engine management system. ADVANTAGE - The inventive method does not require instrumentation for direct measurement of the engine torque and so is suitable for mass-produced standard range vehicles.
