Titel
Directed acoustics for underwater non-lethal weapons
Abstract
This contribution to the symposium discusses some possibilities to generate directed underwater acoustics. The acoustic emitters use techniques to generate plasma arcs by flashover and wire explosion in water. Generated pressure pulses are recorded and analyzed. The generation and propagation of the resulting bubbles is visualized by high speed cinematography to study the acoustic emissions. Two acoustic sources are combined and tested in mode of phase correlation and the results are discussed by using theoretical estimations of acoustic wave propagation in water.
