Titel
Inhibitors for non-lethal anti material applications
Abstract
Today's operations in peace keeping or peace enforcing missions are faced with the need to stop motorized vehicles without exposing civil and military task forces to an unnecessary great risk. Installing military "Checkpoints" is an essential and widespread method to prevent terroristic motivated crimes in crisis-torn areas with asymmetrical threat scenarios. A multitude of victims, both civilians and terrorists, in present time are caused by critical situations at those "Checkpoints". The idea behind the present subject of "Inhibitors" is to create a mobile and flexible device to enhance intervention options against (terroristic) attacks at the "Checkpoints". The classic countermeasures like mechanical barriers or gates are no longer an insurmountable obstacle. Moreover, those methods are not flexible enough and require preparation time. For "Checkpoint" threat scenarios new concepts and methods have to be developed, which provide a secure and reliable application to stop any kind of motorized vehicle in a certain time frame. By slowing down, inhibit or even prohibit processes and reactions of various kinds inside the vehicle the stopping can be achieved. Therefore, suitable substances or combinations of substances have to be found and examined. Every weak point of the material and the components of the whole motorized system can be exploited.
