Photoreceivers suitable for 100 Gb/s data rates are presented, consisting either of monolithic pin-diodes with travelling-wave amplifiers followed by a copackaged DEMUX, or 90 degrees optical hybrids integrated with balanced detectors forming coherent QPSK photoreceiver OEICs.
