Title
Methods for multiscale evaluation of deflectometric measurements
Abstract
The perception of defects on specular surfaces is highly dependent on the curvature of the surface and the environment which is reflected in the surface. Flaws can be perceived as disturbances in the curvature. This report gives an overview of methods for multiscale detection and classification of these disturbances caused by defects on the surface. The defects range from large-scale deviations with minimal height like dents or waves to point-like defects like painting defects. For obtaining the geometric data of the surface, deflectometric methods are used. To characterize the surface and to detect deviations from the desired characteristics of the surface several methods based on the wavelet transform are shown and compared with methods in spatial space.
