Titel
Alternative
Development of a medical robotics system for surgical interventions at the skull base
Abstract

The employment of robotic systems in the field of medical technology is associated with the direct interaction of the robot's end effectors with the patient, a programming and control of the systems by technically untrained staff and variable geometrics caused by the biological vraiability of the patients. Thus, high demands on the availability of the system components, the error tolerance of communication architectures and the ergonomics of the user interaction are made. Within a joint project between the university hospital of Tübingen and Fraunhofer-Institute for Manufacturing engineering and automation IPA, Stuttgart, a medical robotic system for surgical interventions at the lateral skull base has been developed.
