Titel
A framework for energy-sensitive production control in MES
Abstract
Raising demand of energy caused by emergent economies, decreasing oil stocks and the intended nuclear phase-out in different industrial countries, gradually but significantly increase the energy costs. In order to stay competitive, manufacturers will have to pay more attention to the amount of energy utilised during production. This paper discusses selected energy-sensitive production control tasks and methods for the discrete flow production. It aims at identifying the extent to which energy features can be implemented next to established logistic goals. Based on first research activities, a framework was derived in order to develop tools for an energy-sensitive production control. Therefore, a software framework is presented, which provides extended functionalities for manufacturing execution systems (MES) with respect to energy efficiency.
